Spanish Springs Bridge Club
The Spanish Springs Bridge Club plays on Mondays at Washoe County Parks & Open Space Lazy 5 Community Building in Spanish Springs 7100 Pyramid Lake Highway. Owen and Jeanie Manning manage 9 or 10 tables for 36 to 40 seniors. They are hosting an open house on January 11, 2010. Contact Owen or Jeanie for more information at (775) 425-0245.

Studies and Reports
State Senior Service Delivery System
The Association has completed a report that includes suggested changes to the senior service delivery system. This report started out as a study to propose changes to the senior service delivery system at all levels. Due to the major funding cuts that the Aging and Disability Services Division has experienced over the past two years, and which will continue into the future, it was decided to limit the report to senior services ADSD provides. A summary of the report will be posted on the Issues page of this web site soon.
Affordable Health Care Timelines
The White House has provided a timeline for implementation of the Affordable Health Care Act which recently was signed into law. This Legislation will change many of the services and programs that you as an individual or as a service provider use.
Profile of Older Americans
The Administration on Aging recently released the 2009 Profile which contains excellent information about seniors nationally as well as in the State.
2009 Legislative Summary
Elder Rights Attorney, of the Aging and Disabilities Services Division recently completed a report of all the legislation that was passed during the 2009 Legislature. This is an excellent summary and a great resource.
